Sabor Cubano is not just a another Salsa band, Sabor Cubano is a compilation of top rated Cuban musicians, alongside the best of Irish salsa players, aiming to follow in the steps of world remouned Cuban Salsa bands like “Buena Vista Social Club”, “Afrokuban All Stars”, “Cubanisimo” etc.

The band was founded in 2002 by composer and muiscal director Danilo Karell (Cuban).  The lead singer is the vastly experienced and charismatic Cuban singer Evelio Galán (“The man with the golden voice”).  Evelio is a former member of famous Cuban groups such as the “Riverside Orchestra”, “Carlos del Puerto y su Grupo”, “Oscar Valdes and his Band”, “Tropicana Cabaret” etc.  He has shared the stage withi Ibrahim Ferrer, Omara Portuondo, Company Segundo and many other.  He is also an exceptional conga player.

Edddy McGin (from Ireland) on timbales is a truly gifted player.  Each year he attedends percussion matersclasses in Havana Cuba in order to obtain what he calls “a diploma in becoming a real Cuban percussionist”!

This band are truly one of the best Cuban bands to be found.
